Description
Hello! We are looking for a nanny for our 2.5 year old daughter. She is a very social, active and curious toddler who loves nothing more than to run around outside looking for slugs and collecting flowers. We are two Queer parents who both work from home. We ascribe to a pragmatic gentle parenting style where we focus on gentle redirection, reasonable child-led action, but we do use the word no and are working to support her understanding of boundaries.
A typical day with our daughter includes things like time outside either in our neighborhood or exploring a park, going to the FIG, library or pool, reading books, arts and crafts and feeding her snacks and lunch. We try to be as scarce as possible during the day to not upset the flow between our daughter and the caregiver.
We don't expect you to do extra chores around the house while she naps, but we are very appreciative of help here and there if you notice things like the floor needs a quick vacuum or the counters could be wiped down.
The schedule for the summer would be Tuesday through Thursday 9am to 4pm. She will be transitioning to an early learning program in the fall. That school schedule is to be decided, but could be something like 3 days a week 8-12:30. We would ideally find someone who could work with us through that transition into the school year.
Pay would be $18-21/hour depending on experience. You must have a clean driving record and your own vehicle (public transportation isn't a viable option where we live). We reimburse at the federal rate for mileage to and from activities.
Obviously we're incredibly biased, but she's a fantastic little human that loves to make new friends and have lots of adventures!
