Cafe G Hiring Kitchen Porter @Cafe G at ISGM

Cafe G at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is seeking a kitchen porter to join our team. This position offers daytime hours and a respectful, professional work culture.

The kitchen porter works with both the front of house and the back of house team. The porter is generally stationed in the kitchen, and is responsible for helping to bus and sort serviceware after use. They are also responsible for transporting serviceware from our dining room level to the floor below (and vice versa). This is done with a cart on an elevator- you'll need to be able to lift bus buckets & glass racks, but you don't need to carry them far.

The hours for this position are 10am to 5pm. Cafe G is open Wednesday through Monday, closed on Tuesdays. We have 6 shifts available per week, one per day. We have some flexibility with either bringing on two part time team members, or one full time team member. Please let us know your preference and availability! Starting rate is $19 per hour.

Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is not required, but a willingness to learn is! We're looking for folks who are proactive, organized and efficient. As the porter, you'll manage your own rhythm for your trips up and down stairs, but it's also important that you're able and willing to communicate with servers and cooks.

Uniforms and aprons are provided, as well as one complimentary meal per shift.
