Independent Living Skills Trainer @Arcos ILS & SLS

Seeking Life Skills Trainer/Instructors to work with very high functioning developmentally disabled clients in Los Angeles area. Several positions available and have different workdays and times. Applicants must be available for various schedules:

Client#1 varied weekdays 9am to 5pm flexible. 75 hours per month

Client #2 Friday afternoons 3:00 to 6:30 and alternate Saturdays 9:30am to 1pm and other alternate Saturdays 2pm to 8pm. 80 hours per month

Client #3 is Thursdays, Fridays 3:pm to 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10am to 3pm. 80 hours per month

Client #4 varied weekdays 9am through 5pm, flexible. 100 hours per month

Clients #5 & #6 flexible schedule during weekdays

Staff is responsible for teaching the clients in their home basic household organization, creating a chore schedule, how to cook very simple and basic meals, how to do laundry and put it away, help with mail and paperwork, etc... Out in the community you can teach them comparison grocery shopping, run errands, attend medical appointments, if necessary, go for walks, exercise if needed, go to the mall, occasionally going to the movies. Applicant must be patient, compassionate and love helping others. Experience preferred but would train the right person. Applicant must own a computer, printer/scanner and be proficient using them efficiently as all paperwork in done electronically. You must own a car and have a valid CDL and auto insurance.

This job DOES NOT involve any caregiver duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, etc., it involves teaching and training the clients to become independent.

Role Description:
This is a part-time to full-time position for clients based in Culver City, Los Angeles and neighboring areas. The Independent Living Skills Trainer will work with individuals to help them develop essential life skills and achieve greater independence. Day-to-day tasks include conducting hands-on training sessions, assisting with personal development, creating customized skill-building plans, and regularly assessing progress. The role involves direct interaction with clients to provide guidance, encouragement, and consistent support tailored to their specific goals.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in Training & Development and delivering effective presentations
- Experience in teaching Life Skills and Soft Skills to individuals or groups
- Strong Communication skills, including active listening and providing constructive feedback
- Patience and understanding when working with diverse populations
- Ability to work on-site in Los Angeles, CA, and adapt to the unique needs of each individual
- Previous experience in coaching, mentoring, or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.

* 21 years of age or older
* College preferred.
* Must live within a 15 mile radius from Los Angeles CA
* Must speak, read, and write English fluently
* Must have strong writing and organizational and time management skills
* Must own a computer, own a printer, scanner, have internet access and know how to scan and email documents. Must be competent in filling out, printing, scanning and emailing paperwork twice per month.
* Must be professional and responsible, no flakes!
* Must be available to accommodate client schedule
* Must own your own vehicle, be named on vehicle registration, must have current auto insurance and willing to drive with mileage reimbursement.
* Must have valid California driver's license
* Must be have valid work permit and legal US residency
* Pass criminal background check.
* CPR/First Aid Certified or obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
