Prevention Specialist @Youth 180, Inc.

We are looking for a skilled Prevention Specialist to help our agency promote positive healthy behaviors for children, teens and adults. As a Prevention Specialist, you will lead positive alternatives and facilitate alcohol, tobacco, and other drug presentations. You will work in various settings (i.e. schools, community centers, apartment complexes and shelters) and will provide children, teens and adults with evidence-based curriculum and services to help build stronger families and resiliency against life's challenges. As a Prevention Specialist, you will be responsible for helping to identify specific risks youth face and connect them with referral resources. The Prevention Specialist will actively participate in community mobilization activities and events.

Education/experience:
Bachelor's degree preferred, Associates Degree accepted with three (3) years' experience in the youth or social services field. Candidate must become aa Associate Prevention Specialist (APS) through the Texas Certification Board within 20 months of employment.
Prior experience providing prevention education, teaching, conducting support groups, and/or youth activities is preferred.
