Law Student Opportunity – Probate Petition Reviewer (Remote/Part-Time) @Marques Investment Group

My name is Josue, and I run a company that handles a high volume of probate cases. One of the biggest issues we see is that many probate petitions contain discrepancies or missing details that can slow things down or create problems for the parties involved or more importantly NOT invovled.

I'm looking for a detail-oriented law student who can help us by reviewing petitions and flagging inconsistencies, errors, or anything that doesn't quite add up. It's a great way to:

Get real exposure to probate practice and court filings

Sharpen your issue-spotting and reading skills

See how these cases play out in real life, not just in textbooks

Key Responsibilities

-Review probate petitions and related filings (e.g., inventories, notices, orders) for:

-Inconsistent names, dates, and relationships

-Missing or unclear information

-Conflicting facts between documents

-Potential red flags that may cause delays or require clarification

-Compare petitions with supporting documents (wills, death certificates, property records, etc.) as needed.

-Prepare clear, concise summaries of your findings for the team (e.g., bullet-point discrepancy lists).

-Track and organize reviewed files using our internal systems.

-Communicate questions or unusual issues to the team in a timely manner.

-Maintain confidentiality and handle all information with a high level of professionalism.

Schedule & Work Environment

Hours: Approximately (10-15) hours per week, with flexibility around class schedules and exams.

Location: Remote / Hybrid / In-office. Many tasks can be completed remotely as long as you have a secure internet connection.

Training: We provide training on our internal process, what to look for in petitions, and how to format your findings.
