OUR COMPANY: Step into history and be part of something extraordinary at the newly renovated, state-of-the-art Coffee Shop inside the legendary Helms Bakery in Culver City. Owned and operated by Michelin-rated Chef Sang Yoon, our space is more than just a coffee shop, it's a hub of culinary excellence. Alongside our micro coffee bean roaster, we feature an in-house Bakery, a Deli, and a thoughtfully curated Retail Market.
This role also offers the chance to learn coffee roasting using state-of-the-art, eco-friendly methods, a unique opportunity to grow your craft in sustainable roasting.
Who You Are:
We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Coffee Shop Team Member to play a pivotal role in our opening and daily operations. You're motivated, detail-oriented, and thrive in creating memorable guest experiences. You bring a "guest first" mindset, a strong understanding of coffee shop operations, and the professionalism to uphold the highest standards of food, service, and hospitality.
Our team members go beyond making great coffee they deliver an unforgettable experience with every guest interaction.
Responsibilities:
-Maintain efficient flow of service while upholding high standards of quality and cleanliness
-Execute and follow protocols for in-house coffee roasting (for both service and retail)
-Learn and participate in roasting coffee using state-of-the-art, ecologically friendly methods
-Stay current on retail offerings, Helms baked goods, prepared foods, and seasonal selections
-Ensure proper equipment care, maintenance, and cleanliness
-Follow opening and closing procedures
-Support prep work for smoothie bar, soft serve, and in-house syrups
Qualifications:
-1+ years of experience in coffee shops, smoothie bars, or counter service
-Serve Safe certified
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Professional demeanor, appearance, and floor presence
-Familiarity with Toast POS a plus
-Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, and holidays)
