# Medical Assistant - Podiatry Office

*New Canaan Podiatry / New Canaan, CT*

We are looking for a motivated, personable *Medical Assistant* to join our busy, patient-focused podiatry practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a *pre-med, pre-PA, or other pre-health student*, particularly someone taking a *gap year* who is looking to gain meaningful, hands-on clinical experience before graduate school.

# Responsibilities

- Room patients and obtain/update medical histories
- Assist the physician with patient care and in\-office procedures
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms between patients
- Set up instruments and supplies for procedures
- Assist with sterilization and maintaining clinical areas
- Help with basic documentation and other clinical/office tasks as needed
- Provide friendly, professional, and compassionate patient care

# Ideal Candidate

- Pre-med, pre-PA, or other pre-health student/graduate preferred
- Gap-year students strongly encouraged to apply
- Reliable, organized, energetic, and comfortable working in a fast\-paced medical office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Eager to learn and gain direct clinical experience
- Prior medical office experience is helpful but *not required - we are willing to train the right person*

This position offers excellent exposure to *direct patient care, minor procedures, musculoskeletal medicine, regenerative medicine, and the day-to-day operations of a private medical practice*-ideal for someone preparing for medical or PA school.
