Description
We are looking for an energetic and reliable babysitter to pick up our 4.5-year-old son from school in the West Village and activities and classes in and around Tribeca.
The Schedule (Guaranteed 15+ Hours/Week)
We value our sitter's time and consistency, so we provide a guaranteed 16-hour weekly schedule, even though the actual active childcare time is less than 12 hours per week. Here is our schedule:
-Monday: 3:00pm - 6:00pm (active help starts at 4:15pm pick-up from school (in the West Village) but we will still pay you for time between 3:00 and 4:15)
- Tuesday: 2:30 pm - 6:00pm
- Wednesday: Paid Day Off (3 hours of pay guaranteed; no work required)
- Thursday: 2:30pm - 6:00pm (Includes 1 hour of paid down time during his class)
- Friday: 3:45pm - 6:00pm (option to stay until 8:00pm for additional pay + dinner)
Key Responsibilities
- Safe school pick-up and travel to our home or activities.
- Accompanying him to a play class in Tribeca on Thursdays.
- Facilitating occasional playdates and / or afternoon activities.
- Engaging play and light snack prep.
Perks & Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $20hr
- Paid Wednesday: A guaranteed 3-hour payment every Wednesday, even though we won't need your help that day.
- Paid Down Time: You'll have an hour of downtime during his Thursday afternoon class
- Friday Dinner: We'll cover your dinner if you stay past 6pm.
- Paid Days Off: January 19, February 16 & 17
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone through March 20, with a strong possibility of extending through the end of the school year. If it's a great match, we are also happy to add more hours. You should be punctual, communicative, and comfortable navigating the city with a young child.

We are a laid-back, reliable couple looking for a sitter who feels more like a teammate. We have one energetic 4.5-year-old son who loves to read, sing and build. Our home has plenty of room (and toys and supplies) for creative play.
