Description
Seeking a graduate school student with availability M-Th from 3:00 - 7:30 to care for an 11 year old "theater kid" who also plays the flute and loves to write and invent stories.
Care will involve picking child up from school on Upper East Side to bring home to Tribeca, bringing child to activities as needed, helping with homework, rehearsing musicals / plays with child, supervising flute practice and heating up already-prepared dinner.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic and engaging, creative and inventive - musical and artistic, to be a great match to our intelligent, creative and musically inclined child. Our child is very self-disciplined, so this role entails a lot of keeping them company and managing time.
We have two dogs so the caregiver will need to be comfortable with pets.
Qualifications
* Emphasis on safety, particularly on the NYC subway
* Strong time management skills - able to get things done in a compressed time period
* Reliable with strong work ethic, validated with multiple references
* Prior childcare experience required
* College degree
* Strong English language skills - verbal and written
* Honest and trustworthy - comfortable working in a private home
* Ability to pivot between childcare and personal assistant function as needed (light errands)
* Comfortable with dogs
Compensation & Perks
* $25-32/hour, commensurate with experience
* Consistent weekly schedule
* Paid for all scheduled hours, excluding pre-scheduled school holidays
