Guardian - Consent & Safety Role Location: NYC

Paid Position
About the Role: Life Itself Events is seeking compassionate, grounded, and observant individuals to serve as Guardians at our integrated events, which include social connection, kink-friendly spaces, and play-positive environments.
Guardians are the heart of our consent culture-serving as visible, approachable resources who help ensure our spaces remain safe, respectful, and affirming for all attendees. Our events welcome guests exploring polyamory, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), kink, and intimacy.
Guardians play a vital role in supporting both new and experienced guests in navigating these spaces with care, safety, and clarity.
What You'll Do:
Enforce our consent policies with confidence and compassion
Act as a non-intrusive, visible presence in play and social spaces
Be a go-to resource for guests needing support, guidance, or help navigating boundaries
Monitor for any safety concerns and report directly to event leads when necessary
Attend pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs
Represent the energy of calm, grounded authority while encouraging exploration in a secure environment
Qualifications:
Experience in sex-positive, ENM, kink, or wellness communities is a plus, but not required
Strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and a trauma-informed mindset
Comfortable working late-night or overnight shifts
Discretion and professionalism are a must
Training:
No prior Guardian experience? No problem. We offer Guardian Training Sessions for new recruits and ongoing mentorship from senior team members. All Guardians will be trained in our core values, consent protocols, and situational response strategies.
Compensation:
Paid per shift or per event (overnight rates available) Starting at $25 an hour.
