Direct support professional/caregiver @MG Residence

We have immediate openings for compassionate and responsible individuals to provide direct care and support for an adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities in his residence in North Raleigh (full-time, part-time, multiple shifts available).

In this role, you will provide direct care and support to a 45-year-old adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities who is learning day-to-day skills according to goals outlined in his care plan. The ideal candidate will help teach the resident how to be more self-sufficient and improve his quality of life.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist resident with meal preparation, light housekeeping and chores
- Assist resident with personal care including basic personal hygiene and grooming
- Assist resident with participation in enrichment, recreation, and community activities
- Transport resident to/from activities
- Additional shift duties as required including completing daily logs, maintaining a clean home environment, communicating with other employees and employer to ensure quality of care and a smooth transition between shifts

Successful applicants will meet the following requirements:
- Reliable, trustworthy
- Experience working with children and/or adults with disabilities is a plus
- Valid driver's license, automobile insurance, reliable vehicle, good driving record (for most positions)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Acceptable background check
- Excellent references

Salary: Starting from $18.00 per hour

- Day time
- Weeknights
- Weekends
- Overnight
