Youth Pickleball Coach / Internship Opportunity (Part-Time)

Location: North County San Diego (San Marcos / Vista area)
Pay: $45/hour
Hours: 3 hours per week to start
Schedule: Weekday afternoons (after school)
Summer Camp opportunities are available too!

We are looking for an energetic and reliable college student who enjoys sports and working with kids to join our growing after-school pickleball enrichment program.

Our program blends pickleball, mentorship, and social-emotional learning to help elementary and middle school students build confidence, teamwork, and resilience while staying active.

This position can also qualify as an internship opportunity, and students may be able to receive college credit depending on their university's internship or practicum requirements.

This role is especially great for students studying education, psychology, kinesiology, coaching, child development, social work, or nonprofit leadership, but anyone passionate about sports and youth mentorship is encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities
- Play pickleball with students and help run simple drills and games
- Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence
- Help supervise and engage students during after-school sessions
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of equipment
- Serve as a positive role model for youth

Qualifications
- Enjoys working with kids (ages 5-12)
- Basic understanding of pickleball or willingness to learn
- Reliable, positive, and energetic
- Comfortable leading small groups of students
- Background in sports, coaching, education, or youth programs is a plus

Internship & Growth Opportunity

This position can serve as a paid internship, and we are happy to support college credit requirements for students whose programs allow it.

The role begins at 3 hours per week, but there is significant opportunity to grow as the program expands. The right candidate may take on additional coaching hours, leadership responsibilities, and eventually a program coordinator or director role.
