Description
Part-Time Closing Teacher - Bent Tree Day School
18273 Vail Street, Dallas, TX 75287 Part-time $16/hour Monday-Friday, 2:00-6:45 pm
About us
Bent Tree Day School has been a trusted part of the North Dallas community since 1998. We care for children from infancy through school age with a Montessori-inspired, bilingual (English/Spanish) approach. We're a small, close-knit team under new ownership, and our own kids attend here too. We're looking for someone who'll care for every child the way we'd want ours cared for.
The role
You'll be the steady presence that carries our school through the afternoon. You'll help with nap wake-up and cover classrooms during breaks, then lead our after-school program and close the school safely each evening. Your shift ends at 6:45 every day, and you'll get to know our families by name.
What you'll do
Support classrooms from 2:00 pm with wake-up, snack and break coverage
Lead the after-school program: homework help, outdoor play and fun activities
Keep children safe and in ratio as groups combine at the end of the day
Greet families at pickup and release children only to authorized adults
Log check-outs and daily notes in the Brightwheel app
Complete the closing checklist with a teammate: clean, restock and lock up
What you'll need
At least 18 years old, with a high school diploma or GED
Ability to pass a Texas HHSC background check, including fingerprints
Reliable availability every weekday 2:00-6:45 pm
A warm, patient, dependable attitude with children and parents
Comfort with phone apps (we use Brightwheel)
Bonus points
Experience in a licensed child-care center, after-school program or classroom
CDA credential or early childhood education coursework
Speaking Spanish
Familiarity with Montessori
Why join us
$16/hour, above the typical local rate for assistant teachers
Consistent weekday schedule, with no weekends
Paid Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification
A supportive, family-run school where your work is noticed
To apply, send your resume or a short note about yourself, and tell us why you love working with kids.
