Description
Help us create the kind of Jewish community kids can't wait to be part of.
Ramat Shalom Beth Israel (RSBI) is looking for a creative, energetic, and engaging Youth Programming Coordinator who loves working with children and teens and knows how to turn good ideas into great experiences.
We believe that some of the most meaningful Jewish connections begin with friendships, shared experiences, laughter, and a genuine sense of belonging. We're looking for someone who can bring those connections to life for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Working alongside our Director of Youth Engagement, you'll plan and lead social, recreational, cultural, and Jewish experiences that make young people excited to participate in synagogue life.
You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with our newly established Larry Steinberg Institute of Jewish Leadership, helping young people develop confidence, responsibility, teamwork, and leadership skills through meaningful experiences.
What You'll Do
- Create and lead fun, engaging youth group activities for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
- Develop a calendar of social events, outings, holiday celebrations, and community-building experiences.
- Build genuine relationships with children, teens, and their families.
- Encourage participation through personal outreach, creative programming, and consistent engagement.
- Help strengthen connections with students as they move through religious school and beyond B'nai Mitzvah.
- Incorporate opportunities for teamwork, mentorship, community service, and leadership development.
- Collaborate with our clergy, educators, and synagogue professionals.
- Coordinate program logistics, communications, registration, and event supervision.
Who We're Looking For
Someone who is enthusiastic, approachable, dependable, organized, and full of ideas.
You should enjoy spending time with children and teenagers, understand what makes a successful youth program, and be comfortable taking initiative while working as part of a team.
Experience in Jewish camping, synagogue youth groups, education, recreation, or other youth-focused organizations is especially welcome.
A strong connection to Jewish life and culture is important. We value relevant experience, creativity, and the ability to build relationships over any particular academic credential.
Position Details
- Year-round employment, approximately 25-30 hours per week, with flexibility based on the candidate and organizational needs.
- Regular on-site presence, including some evenings and weekends.
- Reports to the Director of Youth Engagement.
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and agreed-upon hours.
- Benefits eligibility determined by RSBI policy and applicable plan requirements.
If you're someone who believes that Jewish community should be meaningful, welcoming, and genuinely fun, we'd love to hear from you.
To Apply: Please submit a resume and a brief introduction describing your experience working with young people and what excites you about creating engaging Jewish youth experiences.
