Local Movings is looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Part-Time Customer Service & Marketing Assistant to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for a college student who wants hands-on experience in business operations, customer service, sales, marketing, and social media while working with a growing Houston company.

Position Details

Pay: $15/hour
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
Regular Schedule: Monday-Friday, generally 3:00 PM-7:00 PM
Location: Houston, TX 77024
Work Setting: On-site

Student-Friendly Scheduling

We understand the importance of balancing work and academics.

While the regular schedule is generally 3:00 PM-7:00 PM, we can provide reasonable flexibility for classes, exams, important school projects, and other academic obligations when communicated in advance.

We're looking for someone dependable and consistent while also providing the flexibility needed to successfully balance work and college.

Work Environment

This position is on-site in a small, professional office setting located within one of the condominium communities we manage in the 77024 area.

The office is a dedicated workspace fully equipped with desks, computers, monitors, phones, and everything needed for daily operations.

You will work directly with one other team member in the office, making this a great opportunity for someone who prefers a smaller, focused work environment with direct communication and hands-on training.

Although Local Movings' moving crews work throughout the Houston area, this is an office position and does not involve moving furniture or performing physical moving work.

What You'll Do
Answer and assist customers by phone, email, and text
Help customers with moving estimates and scheduling
Follow up with prospective customers and existing bookings
Assist with daily scheduling and communication with our operations team
Help prepare the following day's moving schedule
Assist with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Google Business Profile
Request and follow up on customer reviews
Assist with basic marketing activities and promotions
Help with office organization and administrative tasks
Learn and use our booking and customer-management systems
We're Looking for Someone Who Is
Friendly and comfortable speaking with customers
Professional, responsible, and dependable
Organized and detail-oriented
Comfortable using computers and learning new software
Able to communicate professionally by phone, email, and text
Interested in business, marketing, customer service, sales, or entrepreneurship
Comfortable working in a small office environment
Able to work independently while also collaborating closely with another team member
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
Experience

No moving-industry experience is required. We will train the right person.

This position is especially well suited for a college student who wants to gain real-world business experience and learn how customer service, operations, scheduling, marketing, and sales work together in the day-to-day operation of a small business.

There is also an opportunity to take on additional responsibilities as you learn the business and grow with the company.
