JDiscovery Childcare Assistant @Merage JCC

JDiscovery offers captivating STEM-based childcare program specifically designed for children aged 18 months to 8 years old. Our facility allows parents and guardians to engage in their fitness routines at the center while children enjoy an interactive environment focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) through enriching activities. This role also includes hosting birthday parties on weekends. We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic person to join our team and ensure a positive, engaging experience for all children.

Key Responsibilities:

Birthday Party Facilitation and Weekend Event Facilitation
Set up and lead various activities and events during weekends
Organize and oversee sports-based activities, pool games, and other recreational events
Manage the snack bar, ensuring it is stocked and operated efficiently during events.
Plan, implement and facilitate birthday parties.
Childcare and Supervision
Provide attentive and nurturing care to children within the facility.
Maintain focus on children at all times, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Effectively and safely look after children aged 18 months to 8 years old.
Activity Design and Facilitation
Create, plan, and implement age-appropriate STEAM-based activities.
Facilitate hands-on learning experience promoting creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Engage children in developmental, sensory, and active play.
Administrative Duties
Process payments and passes for the JDiscovery program.
Accurately log entrants into the system, maintaining up-to-date records.
Address members' concerns, suggestions, and complaints in a timely, professional, and consistent manner.
Customer Service and Representation
Provide exceptional experience and service to all members.
Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, and helpful attitude.
Represent the Merage JCC in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Maintenance and Safety
Follow all policies and programming to ensure safe, age appropriate activities for all children.
Maintain cleanliness and organizational throughout JDiscovery.
Qualifications:

Confident, strong customer service skills including, an outgoing personality, friendly disposition, self-confidence, and maturity.
Experience in childcare, early childhood education, or a related field.
Strong understanding of STEAM education principles and activities.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
If under 18, must provide a Work Permit from your high school.
LiveScan, CPR, AED and First Aid certified or willing to complete upon hire.
Working Conditions:

Indoor and outdoor environments, including poolside areas.
Physical activity, including setting up equipment and leading games.
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
