Description
$25/hour 8-10 hours/week to start

We are a family in Century City looking for an exceptionally organized, energetic, and responsible college student or young professional to help keep our busy household organized and running smoothly.

This is not a babysitting position and not a traditional housekeeping/cleaning position. We already have a weekly housekeeper. We are looking for someone whose natural strength is organizing, creating order, and keeping things in their proper place - the kind of person who sees a messy drawer, pile of art supplies, or toys without a home and instinctively wants to create a system for them.

What you'll do:

The role combines hands-on home organization with the everyday resetting that keeps a household from becoming chaotic between cleaning days.

Typical tasks include:

- Fold and put away children's laundry and clothing
- Reset and organize the nursery and playroom
- Put toys, books, art supplies, and other items back where they belong
- Identify things that don't have a logical home and create simple, practical organizational systems for them
- Maintain previously organized spaces so they stay functional
- Organize art supplies, small toys, drawers, cabinets, etc.
- Load/unload and start the dishwasher
- Clear and wipe kitchen counters and stovetop
- Take out trash
- Sweep or vacuum as needed
- Reset the dining room/table
- Start loads of laundry
- General light tidying and household resetting

We especially value initiative. We don't want to give someone a detailed checklist every time they arrive. Once you understand how our home works, we'd like you to notice what needs attention, bring issues or ideas to us, take direction, and then follow through.

Schedule

Approximately 8-10 hours per week to start. Tuesdays and Thursdays are fixed days, with additional hours available on Mondays and/or Sundays.

Occasionally - approximately once every couple of weeks - we may ask you to stay later in the evening.

We have two elementary school-age children. This is not a childcare job: you will not normally be responsible for entertaining them, planning activities, or actively babysitting. On occasional evenings, however, we need someone mature and responsible who is comfortable being the adult in the house while we step out and can handle an emergency if one arises.

You may be a great fit if you:

- Are naturally VERY organized and genuinely enjoy creating order
- Notice things that need to be done without always being told
- Are energetic and like being physically busy
- Are reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Have strong attention to detail
- Can follow an established system rather than reorganizing things arbitrarily
- Are comfortable taking direction and completing a task from start to finish
- Enjoy finding practical solutions when something doesn't have an obvious place
- Are comfortable around school-age children
- Are looking for a consistent part-time position rather than a temporary gig

This could be an especially good fit for someone interested in professional organizing, interior organization, or household management and operations.

Prior professional organizing experience is not required. Natural ability, judgment, initiative, reliability, and attitude matter much more to us.

Pay: $25/hour

Location: Century City, Los Angeles

When applying, please tell us a little about yourself, your current school/work schedule, your availability on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and why you think you're a naturally organized person. If you've ever reorganized a room, closet, workspace, playroom, or other space - professionally or just because you enjoy it - we'd love to hear about that too.
