Part-time Companion & Music Project Assistant (Oakland, CA)

We are looking for a patient, thoughtful college student to assist my husband with an ongoing music project he is passionate about. He has Alzheimer's and thrives with a calm, encouraging presence who shares an interest in music and history.

Requirements:

Basic Piano Skills: You don't need to be a concert pianist-just comfortable enough to play simple accompaniment so he can sing along.

Traits: Patient, warm, reliable, and comfortable (or open to learning) working with someone with memory impairment.

What You'll Do:

Play Piano: Provide simple accompaniment for his singing.

Explore & Research: Chat about his musical/historical interests and help with basic online research on these topics.

Schedule: Ideally Sunday-Thursday, 3:00 PM - 5:30 PM (flexible on specific days/hours).

Details:

Location: Adams Point, Oakland (easy access for local students).

Pay: Paid position; competitive rate based on experience.
