Northeast Texas Neurology Associates is a small, independent neurology practice in Tyler seeking a dependable and personable Clinical Assistant to help with patient flow in our office.

This position is ideal for a college student or recent college graduate taking a gap year before medical/PA/nursing school who wants hands-on experience working directly with patients in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities:
-Bring patients from the waiting room to the clinical area
-Obtain and document weight, blood pressure, pulse, and other vital signs
-Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for their visit
-Enter appropriate patient information into the electronic health record
-Prepare exam rooms between patients
-Assist the clinical team with efficient patient flow
-Provide friendly and professional assistance to patients and families

Who We're Looking For:

No medical assistant certification or previous medical office experience is required. We will train the right person.

-A pre-medical student, gap-year student, or someone pursuing a healthcare career
-Friendly and comfortable interacting with patients
-Mature, dependable, and punctual
-Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions carefully
-Comfortable using computers and learning an electronic health record
-Able to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism
-Interested in learning about medicine and patient care

This is more than a typical front-desk position. You will have direct patient interaction and work alongside a neurologist, nurse practitioner, and experienced clinical staff in a busy outpatient neurology practice.

The position provides an opportunity to become comfortable interacting with patients, learn how an outpatient medical practice functions, and gain meaningful exposure to clinical medicine and neurology.

For the right individual, there may also be opportunities for additional clinical learning and physician mentorship as experience is gained.

Schedule

Part-time: Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM

Applicants must be able to reliably work the full scheduled hours on both days.
