Studio Assistant - Blooms Collective
Part-time Washington, DC (1638 R Street NW)
$19-25/hour based on floral design experience
Blooms Collective is a neighborhood flower studio and walk-in gift shop in Dupont/Logan. We specialize in daily arrangements, subscriptions, and wedding and event florals, and we're open six days a week, Monday through Saturday. We're looking for a studio assistant to work alongside our florists.
What you'd do
Process and condition flowers on delivery days
Wrap, pack, and stage deliveries against our same-day cutoff
Keep the cooler, buckets, tools, and studio clean and stocked (a real and constant part of the job)
Help with load-in and load-out for weddings and events, and receive farmer deliveries
Greet walk-ins, help customers on the shop floor, and take the occasional order or phone call
What we're looking for
Reliability - we work to delivery deadlines that don't move
Comfortable on your feet, lifting buckets and boxes up to 40 lbs, and working in a cold room
Cheerful with customers, and comfortable with retail operations
Floral experience is welcome but not required; we'll teach you what you don't know
Saturday availability
Details
Approximately 12-15 hours per week. Hourly, paid biweekly.
